With over twenty years of dedicated service as an educator and creative writer, Ms Elizabeth Koshy has committed her career to transforming educational environments and cultivating a deep appreciation for literature. She began her academic journey with a Master of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in History, focusing on World Art and Indian Art, from Stella Maris College, Madras University.
Her professional career includes significant roles such as the Founder Director and Secretary of Chaitanya School in Gandhinagar. Since 2003, Ms Elizabeth Koshy has led the institution under the Sree Vidya Niketan Trust, adhering to a philosophy that prioritizes education over commercial interests. She implemented innovative teaching methodologies that helped the school evolve from a nursery to a full-fledged CBSE-affiliated institution. Her approach emphasized a “Childhood for the Child” to “Responsible Adulthood” ethos, aiming for a holistic and stress-free learning environment.
In addition to her role at Chaitanya School, Ms Koshy has been actively involved in various educational and literary ventures. As a workshop facilitator at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, she conducted sessions on Business English, assisting international participants in enhancing their communication skills and professional development. Ms Elizabeth Koshy also founded The Book Club in Gandhinagar, where she curated a vibrant literary community. Through organizing discussions, events, and a monthly literary newsletter for 10 years, she fostered intellectual engagement among book enthusiasts, authors, and critics.
Her editorial contributions include serving as an Associate Editor for Business @ Gujarat, where she was responsible for shaping editorial content and contributing keynote pieces to a local business magazine. Additionally, her freelance journalism work spanned two decades with prominent publications such as the Times of India, Femina, Inside Outside, and the Indian Express, where she provided insights on a variety of topics.
In 2018, Elizabeth Koshy authored “A Palimpsest,” a collection of essays that explores contemporary issues and personal reflections, showcasing her deep engagement with societal and individual themes.
Beyond her professional life, Elizabeth Koshy has a range of interests including reading and writing, interior design, promoting sustainable practices through best-from-waste initiatives. She continues to be an ardent advocate of quality education and stress-free learning environments as Honorary Director of Chaitanya School.
She is married to C.K. Koshy, a retired Additional Chief Secretary of the Indian Administrative Service.. They reside in Gandhinagar, Gujarat,. They have two children and two grandchildren.
