Dr. Indira Nityanandam is a distinguished academic, writer, and education leader. With an M.A. in English and Political Science, an MPhil, and a PhD from Gujarat University, she was a Gold Medallist in English Literature.

She served as Principal of Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College, Ahmedabad, and has authored, edited, or translated more than 25 books. She has published over 30 academic papers and delivered keynote addresses at major conferences. At Chaitanya, she conducts teacher workshops, student lectures, and sponsors the Appa Khoj Inter-School Quiz. Outside of professional work, she is deeply committed to literature, translation, and social causes, and remains actively engaged with NGOs supporting education for children and women.
