Dr. V. V. Rama Subba Rao is one of Gujarat’s most accomplished administrators and scholars. He earned a Ph.D. and MPA from Harvard University, after completing an M.A. in Mathematical Economics and an M.Sc. in Statistics from Andhra University, along with an LLB from Delhi University.

He served for 36 years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), holding leadership positions in finance, governance, and IT systems. Known for combining intellectual rigour with administrative effectiveness, he played a significant role in modernising governance practices in Gujarat.

At Chaitanya, he advises on strategic governance, financial management, and institutional systems, reinforcing the Trust’s vision that education must remain inclusive, affordable, and a service to society. Settled in Gandhinagar after retirement, and with his spouse serving as a Trustee, his association with SVNT is both personal and professional. Outside of professional work, he enjoys mentoring younger administrators, engaging in community service, and reflecting on public affairs.
