Smt. Gowri Ishwaran is one of India’s most respected educationists, honoured with the Padma Shri in 2004 for her contribution to education. A postgraduate in English Literature, she began her career teaching in leading schools such as St. Michael’s, Patna, and Springdales, Delhi, before moving into leadership roles.

She is best known as the Founder Principal of Sanskriti School, New Delhi, where she created an institution that blended academic excellence with holistic development. She later served as the CEO of The Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF), and continues today as its Vice-Chairperson, nurturing ethical young leaders.

Her influence extends across education and philanthropy through advisory roles with the Shiv Nadar Foundation, the Shiv Nadar School Advisory Board, and the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women. At Chaitanya, she strengthens the Trust’s commitment to combining values, creativity, and forward-looking education. Outside of professional work, she remains dedicated to creative pedagogy, women’s empowerment, and mentoring the next generation of educational leaders.
