Chaitanya School has always been a pioneer in following traditions that are relevant in today’s world and which parents can observe within the boundaries of their own creed and customs. The Akshararambham or Vidyarambham is the Sanskrit word Akshara + Aarambhamor  Vidhya+ Aarambham which initiates him into reading and writing.

In a colourful ceremony Akshararambham was celebrated in Chaitanya Junior Sector 21 Gandhinagar on 13th June at 9.00 a.m. This occasion was graced by the Director Ms. Elizabeth Koshy ,Trustee Ms. Nalini Ramasubbaroa, Administration head Ms.Mukta Deshpande and Rajayogini Bramhak umari Jayanti and Rajayogini Bramha kumari Meera from Prajapati Bramha Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya who came to bless the children besides staff and students. They requested the new parents to conduct the ritual themselvesas the parent is considered the first teacher. The ceremony itself, involved the lighting of their individual ‘kodiyas’ from the big Lamp of Knowledge. The parents sat with the child on the lap and helpedthem to write their first alphabet on a thali with rice. The  blessing of their “ishtadevta” was invoked as they made the symbols on rice in a thali to signify progressive learning.

The ever popular demonstration of bird calls kept the kids enthralled. The programme culminated with the distribution of prasad and refreshments.
