Chaitanya School, Gandhinagar, managed by the SVNT is now fully affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Affiliation Code No 430193) and has Classes from 1 to 9 in its spacious Lekawada campus. Chaitanya Junior in Sector 21  houses the KG Section in a child-friendly campus in the best locality of Gandhinagar.

Chaitanya marked the end of the Academic year 2012-13 with a glittering Awards Function held in its Barot Amphitheatre on 23rd March. The much coveted Chaitanyan Awards and other impressive Scholarships were presented by the Trustees of the SVNT. Group Captain Mohanta of the SWAC and Chairman of the Air Force School was the Chief Guest. It was well- attended by parents, Advisors of the SVNT and the School Management, Ms Elizabeth Koshy - Director, Ms Nalini Subbarao, Trustee and Mr Ravi Gopalan-Treasurer.


The Principal, Ms Preeta Pillai presented her Annual Report, high-lighting the considerable achievements of the Chaitanya students in curricular and co-curricular activities, besides Sports. Three winners from each class of the 15th SOF National Olympiad conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation were also given awards.

In a pioneering effort at greening the  Chaitanya campus, the Landmark Group awarded a trophy to the Sabarmati House for maintaining the trees donated by them and  the Sanwaliya Seth Gardens  Award was given to the Narmada House for awareness about Trees.

The Awards Ceremony was interspersed with interesting cultural items which show-cased integration and environmental awareness, all part of the Learning with Understanding methodology of Chaitanya.


Group Captain Mohanta gave an inspiring speech commending the efforts of the School at putting into practice the Chaitanyan motto of Childhood for the Child. For the first time the inspiring school song, Chaitanya Chetna, composed by the Staff led by Ms Nirupama, and set to music by Mr Hemang was sung at the function.

As part of the Orientation the new parents and students were able to see the spacious campus at Lekawada with its sports fields  and the beautiful well-lit and well-ventilated classrooms where Classes I to 9 will be housed. The Principal took the opportunity to introduce her team of dedicated teachers to the assembled parents. In a grand finale the children danced to Jai Ganesha signifying the end of the old year and the beginning of the new. As always the function ended with the National Anthem and cheers for the school.
