Chaitanya School, Gandhinagar showcased a ‘World without Borders’ in their annual extravaganza Chaitanyotsav on 17th December 2016 at Town Hall, Gandhinagar.
The theme was interpreted in ‘Around the World’ and ‘Colours of the Wind’ by students from Nursery to Senior Secondary through the effective use of dance, drama, song & declamation with emphasis on Humanity & the Environment. The value of Compassion in current times was impressively conveyed in modern-day adaptation of the parable ‘The Good Samaritan’ while ‘Chief Seattle’s Letter’ is a still-relevant appeal to protect and conserve our earth. The increasing inter-connectivity of the world was brought into view by taking the audience ‘Around the World’ in an ‘Armchair Travelogue’. The objective of a World without Borders was to impress on us that human beings must ‘Emphasize the Similarities and Celebrate our Differences’.
Chaitanyotsav 2016,conceptualized by Director Ms Elizabeth Koshy, was a model of Life Skills Development as the students had a hands-on-experience of managing the show from planning to execution. The spirit of teamwork was visible in the participation of all students either onstage or back-stage.
“The event is not about training professionals, but the sense of creativity and involvement that we want to generate in the students”, says Ms Koshy.
